In the Centennial year for the brand, and after the success of the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition, released in only 100 units, Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna chose Ghibli as the natural evolution of their partnership, presenting an absolutely unique concept car.

Maserati Ghibli S Q4, designed in collaboration with Ermenegildo Zegna, offers a new, exclusive product style interpretation; with its dynamic, contemporary look, it targets a luxury bracket of precious detail lovers and has been created with a renewed product range in mind for the future.

The bodywork has a tri-coated paint finish in a new colour shade and the 20” wheels also come in a specially developed colour; the interior has been designed as the ultimate expression of style and exclusivity, with a contrasting colour scheme created by combining the finest leather and valuable Zegna yarns.

A substantial representation of the Maserati model range will also be on display at the stand, including the Quattroporte GTS, characterised by a new exterior and MY15 richer selection of standard equipment, and also available in a Diesel version. Two more Ghiblis will be present in their S Q4 and Diesel versions, alongside the Centennial Editions of the GranTurismo MC Stradale and GranCabrio MC.

[Maserati]Modena plays host to the Maserati Centennial celebrations 19/09/2014 - Modena

The first day of the Maserati Centennial International Gathering ended with a guided tour and dinner at the company’s historic factory in Viale Ciro Menotti, Modena. After a lengthy parade through the city’s streets, involving more than 200 classic and modern Maseratis and Modena’s entire population, Gathering participants enjoyed a guided tour of the complex that Maserati has occupied since it moved from Bologna to Modena in 1939, and where the Maserati GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Alfa Romeo 4 C are now produced.

These same production lines provided the striking location for a very unusual dinner during which guests were entertained by singers from the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation – Tenor Jenish Ysmanov, Soprano Jessica Cambio, Mezzo Soprano Martina Belli and Baritone Daniele Terenzi. The bond between Maserati and Luciano Pavarotti was always very strong on both sides - the great Tenor’s first Maserati was a bright blue Sebring, which he purchased in 1963 – and it still continues today thanks to his widow Nicoletta Mantovani, present at the dinner. In the afternoon, guests visited the “Maserati 100 – A Century of Pure Italian Luxury Sports Cars” exhibition at the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari, near the Maserati headquarters and curated by Adolfo Orsi, grandson of the Adolfo Orsi who bought the Maserati business from its founder brothers in 1937.

Today saw the start of the Maserati Centennial International Gathering, a key event in the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Modena-based company. The first day of the official programme, involving over 200 Maseratis and over 500 Maserati collectors and clients from 30 countries across the world, was dedicated to the city of Modena. Vintage and modern Maseratis began making their way into Modena in the early hours, lining up in Piazza Grande in the shadow of the Ghirlandina, the white stone bell tower that is the symbol of the Emilian city. Piazza Grande was also the venue for the meeting between Maserati CEO Harald Wester and the Mayor of Modena, Gian Carlo Muzzarelli, who officially welcomed the participants to the city.
Also participating at the event are around ninety journalists from the main international markets in which Maserati is present - from the US (biggest market in terms of unit sales) to China (second biggest market with the highest growth rate), the UK, Germany and Italy (the contenders for biggest European market), Australia and Japan. During the morning the international press visited the building, at no. 1 Via de’ Pepoli in Bologna, where Maserati opened for business for the first time on 1 December 1914. After this, they met with the direct descendants of the founders of Maserati: Carlo and Alfieri Maserati, the sons of Ettore and Ernesto Maserati respectively, who in December 1914 set out on an adventure with their brother Alfieri which is still going strong a hundred years later and which we are celebrating today.
"Of the many automobile producers born in Italy in the last century, only a few have reached such a milestone and this fills me with joy", declared Alfieri Maserati. "The name we bear symbolises brilliance, innovation and the desire to create the unique and novel features we find in today's cars".
“100 years have passed since the founding of the 'Società Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati'", recalled his cousin Carlo, "and I would like to express all my gratitude to those who have made Maserati's accomplishments possible and have brought it to new horizons. The longevity of this success is also due to the harmonious relationships within the family and to the extraordinary technical skills that, for example, allowed us to construct a racing car in just six months".

[Maserati]The Maserati Alfieri stars at the Geneva Motor Show 04/03/2014 - Geneva

This centenary concept explores Maserati’s stylistic heritage and hints at the brand’s future design language.
-_GE18093
Maserati unveiled the Alfieri, a 2+2 concept car to celebrate the brand’s centenary at the Geneva Palexpo today. The Alfieri is an exciting but realistic and 100% functional prototype that says much about the design DNA of future Maseratis. In fact, the Alfieri could well be a door to the future of Maserati.
The striking new concept bears the name of Alfieri, the most prominent of the Maserati brothers, and the engineering genius who founded “Officine Alfieri Maserati” in Bologna a century ago. The Alfieri was created at the Maserati Centro Stile in Turin by a small group of talented young designers led by Marco Tencone. The project was masterminded by Lorenzo Ramaciotti.

In this, its 100th year, the Maserati company is in fine health. An ambitious plan that took off in 2013 with the presentation of the Quattroporte and Ghibli models is transforming the Italian manufacturer into a serious player in the premium sports car segment. In just one year, from 2012 to 2013, sales increased by 150%, from 6,200 to 15,400 cars.

Today Maserati is a global automotive player with a complete model range made up of two four-door saloons, two GT sports cars, four engines (a V8, a V6 Twin Turbo, a V8 NA and a turbo Diesel), and two different architectures (AWD & RWD). And there’s an SUV coming soon!

[Maserati]Maserati Ghibli at Super Bowl XLVIII

Last night, for the first time ever, a car designed and built in Italy was presented to an audience of more than 110 million people.

The new Maserati Ghibli was seen by viewers across America in a 90” TV spot that aired during the 48th edition of the Super Bowl, as the Seattle Seahawks battled the Denver Broncos to take the NFL championship title at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

It is a source of immense pride for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Italian employees, particularly the team at Maserati, that the premium luxury Ghibli, which is sold in markets around the globe, received such large scale exposure, particularly as the brand embarks on its 100th anniversary year. The Super Bowl is American football’s annual championship game and is widely-considered the single most important event in the sporting calendar, which traditionally sees the entire nation glued to their TV screens as if it were a national holiday.

Shown during the game’s first quarter, the spot titled “Strike” tells a story of hard work and dedication, passion and tenacity. The star of this story is Quvenzhane Wallis, a young American actress who received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role in January 2013, when she was just nine, securing her a place in history as the youngest ever nominee for this prestigious award.

[Maserati]The First 100 Years of Maserati

02/12/2013 - Modena
A year-long celebration beginning today will mark Maserati’s Centennial, a century of success lived to the full in the spirit of “The Absolute Opposite of Ordinary.”
--Centennial logoHQ
With the month of December Maserati officially enters the 100th year of its history. It does so in a period of unprecedented health and unparalleled growth. More than 23,000 orders worldwide up to date are propelling Maserati into a new dimension. Today Maserati is amongst the fastest growing brands in the United States and a concrete reality in nearly 70 markets in the world, starting with China, Maserati’s second largest commercial reality on the planet.
A company 100 years young, Maserati showcased only days ago at the Los Angeles Auto Show its new brand look and marketing communication campaign. Both are inspired by “ The Opposite of Ordinary” concept, a testament to the company’s first 100 years and a guideline for the next 100. For, as the whole history of Maserati proves, while some automobiles are inspired by basic geometry, Maseratis are simply inspired.
It is with great pride that Maserati introduces the Centennial Logo. Maserati’s world famous Trident was inspired from the sculptures of Italy itself. So it seemed fitting to sculpt a new image to represent our first 100 years of passion in car-making. The Maserati Centennial Logo is more medallion than graphic. It lives as a forged symbol of our racing heritage. But even more importantly, it resembles nothing found among other luxury brands. And so it serves as a constant reminder of our core belief. That in everything we build for the next 100 years, to always be—The Absolute Opposite of Ordinary.

[Maserati]New Maserati Quattroporte set to debut at 2013 NAIAS in Detroit

06/11/2012 - Detroit
1-1
The New Maserati
“Maserati stands today at the edge of an unparalleled strategic and industrial growth that will see our presence in the world rise to 50,000 units a year by 2015. This growth is a challenge for which Maserati has carefully prepared itself and that we all welcome with anticipation.
It is a growth based on those values of style, elegance, quality, performance for which Maserati has been always recognized and praised in almost 100 years of history. This exciting progression will make the new Maserati a true global player with two new production sites in two different continents and a heart solidly planted in Modena, Italy, where our roots are.
It is a growth that will be based on three new models entering two new segments of the automobile market – and it starts with the all-new 2013 Maserati Quattroporte.”
Harald Wester, Maserati CEO
Maserati Quattroporte: Italian Design at its Best
3-2
“The new Maserati Quattroporte is a high-performance sports luxury sedan that reinterprets the design features of classic Maseratis in a contemporary design language. Its style was born out of the guiding design principles of Maserati: harmony of shapes, dynamism of lines, Italian elegance. More generous in size when compared to the previous model, the new Quattroporte has a design that is at once graceful and sinuous, fashioned to bring out the sporty nature of the car. Some of the elements characterizing the previous model have been purposely maintained: the front grill, the three side vents, the triangular C pillar. At the same time new style and functional features were introduced: the strong belt line that runs through the entire side of the car giving the new Quattroporte a look and feel that is at once muscular and elegant with frameless doors and three side windows.

Inside, the design of the Quattroporte aims at essentiality, stressing the simplicity of lines and the full functionality of the in-board instrumentation. Functional elements are blended with soft quality surfaces made of prestigious woods and refined leathers.”
Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Head of Maserati Design Center

27/09/2012 - Paris

International debut at the 2012 Edition of the Paris International Motor Show for Maserati: the GranCabrio MC. Designed to complete Maserati’s open-top range, the new Maserati GranCabrio MC blends high performance and sports characteristics derived from racing experience with the style, charm and practicality of Maserati’s four seater convertible.

This debut is framed by Maserati’s presentation of the complete, revamped Sport range, including the GranTurismo Sport, the GranCabrio Sport – recently presented at the Moscow Motor Show – and the Quattroporte Sport GT S.

GranCabrio MC
Inspired and encouraged by the considerable success of the GranTurismo MC Stradale, which was warmly received by customers thanks to a masterly translation and adaptation of racing characteristics for use on the road, the new GranCabrio MC completes the open-top range with a highly sporty and aggressive look, while maintaining the strengths and characteristics of a true grand tourer, ideal for long journeys.
Exterior
The new, sporty look can be seen in each stylistic element of the GranCabrio MC’s bodywork. Inspired directly by the cars of the Maserati Trofeo MC World Series and the GT4 version, the new design perfectly blends sportiness, dynamism, the search for aerodynamic perfection, elegance and style. [Maserati]New organizational and industrial structure for Maserati

maserati_azienda

As part of the strategy to expand its product offering and significantly increase volumes, over the next two years Maserati will introduce three new models in three different market segments.

Leveraging on its existing presence in 65 markets worldwide and a new generation of products targeted at volume market segments, Maserati plans a significant increase in production, reaching up to 50,000 vehicles a year by 2015.

Public officials and trade unions were presented the future organizational and industrial structure today at the company’s headquarters in Modena.

With regard to industrial requirements, it was underlined that the current facilities will not be adequate to implement these targets.

Given its location inside the city limits, the Modena plant cannot be expanded and, therefore, the decision was made some time ago to locate future production at the Officine Automobilistiche Grugliasco plant (ex Bertone). Acquired by Fiat just over two years ago, a total of €500 million is being invested to upgrade that plant.

Design, marketing and distribution activities for the entire product range will be located at the company’s Modena headquarters, in addition to production of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio ranges and, from May 2013, a new Alfa Romeo model with expected production of up to 2,500 units per year.

With regard to the impact on employment, the company confirmed that, even during this period of crisis, restructuring and capacity underutilization will be managed exclusively through the use of the temporary layoff benefit schemes available. As on other occasions, however, every opportunity will be taken to utilize Maserati workers at other Group plants.
