[Design]Pininfarina in Geneva with the concept car Sergio
As a tribute to the Senator, the stand is also displaying one of his most beloved masterpieces, the Dino Berlinetta Speciale, 1965
Turin, 5 March 2013 – It is named Sergio, after the man who led Pininfarina for 40 years and conceived some of the greatest car legends. It is the new, amazing concept car created to celebrate the Life Senator Sergio Pininfarina. At its world debut today at the Geneva Motor Show, the Sergio joins the brand that has so marked the history of Pininfarina: Ferrari.
Universally known as Master of Italian style, the signature of Sergio Pininfarina left its imprint on the whole history of design with his creative genius, from the age of the great bodyworks to modern industry, often anticipating trends. The concept car dedicated to him renews the spirit of the extraordinary achievements under his leadership, translating it into a modern vision in the name of exclusivity, innovation and passion.
The Sergio, in fact, is a two-seater barchetta that looks to the future, very compact, very sporty, racy, pure and sensual. An exercise that Pininfarina decided to undertake on Ferrari 458 Spider mechanicals. Its formal interpretation is absolutely free, in the best tradition of the Pininfarina research which has produced so many Ferrari-based concept cars or unique models now recognised as masterpieces.
Its exclusivity and development on the basis of a production car, in fact, sets the Sergio in the tradition of the great Pininfarina custom-made cars specifically designed for "special" clients. It is therefore a real car that can easily be produced in limited series of a few units.

[Design]100 YEARS BERTONE: THE "NUCCIO" PROTOTYPE
NUCCIO
In summary
Its name pays homage to the past and represents a challenge to the future. It's called Nuccio, after the unforgettable master of Italian style, the concept car that Bertone will present in a "world premiere" at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to celebrate its Centennial. The Nuccio is an "extreme", fully functional sports car, which develops the Bertone genetic code with an evolutionary flair: a 480 hp, 4.3-liter V8 mid-engine “berlinetta”.
The car has a low and muscular, mono-volume architecture, (length 4800 mm, width 1950 mm, height 1220 mm), which coherently refers back to some of the most historical Bertone concept cars of the past, true milestones of car design: the Alfa Romeo Carabo (1968), the Lancia Stratos Zero (1970) and the Lamborghini Countach (1971). At the same time, by pushing the mono-volume concept to new extremes, the Nuccio develops an unique form language that strongly projects it towards the future.
The Nuccio was born under the Bertone brand because, thanks to the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity called Centennial, the company wanted to emphasize and reaffirm its’ independence by expressing a "pure" concept which is not bound by any other brand identity of any other car manufacturer. The Nuccio concept car is the pinnacle of all the events in the year-long Bertone Centennial agenda. After the Geneva Auto Show, the car will be exhibited at the Beijing Auto Show (April) and the Italian National Automobile Museum in Turin (May) where the official Bertone Centennial exhibition will open with a inaugural gala evening, and will remain open all summer. Bertone will also sponsor the Automotive News Europe annual convention of (June), which will host the Nuccio on display. And finally, both the Concorso Italiano at Laguna Seca in the USA (August), and a special edition of Florence Uniques Special Ones (September), two events which bring together the most important collectors worldwide with their spectacular cars, will be fully dedicated to the Bertone Centennial this year.

[Design]BERTONE AT 2007 GENEVA MOTORSHOW - FIAT "BARCHETTA"
Bertone presents the Barchetta concept car in celebration of its 95th anniversary. Based on the floorpan and mechanicals of the Fiat Panda 100 HP, the Bertone Barchetta is an open-topped strictly two-seater sports car that calls to mind the Italian racing cars of the 1950s. In this case, the design explicitly cites the Fiat 500 with Barchetta bodywork created by the young Nuccio Bertone in 1947 as a one-off for his personal use in races.
The decision to celebrate the company’s 95th anniversary with a minimalist yet sophisticated model is perfectly in keeping with the Bertone philosophy. Since its very earliest days, the company has interpreted cars by Italian car makers with an elegant style that emphasises their personality and technological content, with an unparalleled passion for sportiness.
Bertone’s choice of the Fiat brand to celebrate its 95th anniversary was both natural and emotional. Natural because Fiat is the Italian brand par excellence. Emotional because the birth of Bertone as a coachbuilder of “special” vehicles is closely linked to the history of the Fiat brand. The historic relationship between the two companies has lasted for more than eighty years and has generated more than fifty highly successful models counting concept cars, one-offs and production cars, from the 850 Spider to the X1/9, from the Ritmo Cabrio to the Punto Cabrio.

[Design]FIORAVANTI AT 2007 GENEVA MOTORSHOW - THALIA: futuristic concept
We look into the future in order to be ready and resourceful when faced by new environment challenges and alternative sources of energy; Fioravanti introduces the Thalia.
This concept car is the result of research and development for a vehicle that allows to stock up he most recent eco-friendly energies and to combine innovation with elegance.
We began by raising the rear sitting thus creating room for hydrogen tanks, for a “fuel cell” car or for possible batteries in the case an electric or hybrid engine. These large masses would be placed in a well protected area, safe from crashes and low for an ideal centre of gravity to improve the car handling.
In recent year, despite the fast growing number of M.P.V., S.U.V., COSSOVER models, the problem of poor visibility for the rear passengers is still unresolved; their desire to enjoy a clear view has yet to be fulfilled.
By blending all technical and architectural aspects, our inside space has been reshaped, the rear seats are about 30 cm higher then the front ones, therefore they will be experiencing a “front row” journey. We have also maintained the driving experience for driver and front passenger with more reclined and sporty but comfortable seats.

[Design]MUSTANG GIUGIARO: AMERICAN DREAM BY ITALIAN STYLE
Italdesign Giugiaro faces a second exploration of the American muscle car with a Ford Mustang of the future. Exhibited at the 2006 November Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, the Mustang by Giugiaro concept was developed and carried out under the direction of Fabrizio Giugiaro, Styling Area Director of the Company.
The first leg of this journey among the icons of the American auto industry was the Chevrolet Corvette Moray that came out in March 2003, a car with a very futuristic design, and only a few echoes of the formal language of the Corvette, that could be seen in particular on the front and rear. The Mustang by Giugiaro concept, however, is a much more contemporary remake of Ford’s pony car, a popular sports concept invented by Lee Iacocca in 1964 and still attractive over 40 years later.
