[Pagani Automobili]THE NEW PAGANI HUAYRA IN THE 2011 GENEVA MOTORSHOW

2010-12-12-pagani-07-605m8m9m2-2
After seven years of hard work I am now able to tell you a little brief history and the path that led to the birth of the Huayra, project name C9.
The concept was born in 2003, the year of the introduction of the Zonda S Roadster. As you may recall the early 2000s were prosperous for the world of supercars. The commitment of big car manufacturers have contributed to the rise of extraordinary cars like the Bugatti Veyron, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes McLaren SLR.

This context led us to make several observations concerning the future of the Zonda and what could be a new Pagani. Since the original design of the Zonda was done in the early 90s the first thought was that it was now an obsolete project and we decided to imagine the car totally different in form, dimension, dynamics and technology, all this without losing the essence of our approach, to follow a concept born in the Renaissance where Leonardo da Vinci told us that art and science are disciplines that need to walk alongside.

The eternal element air in all its forms, especially wind, became determining in defining the concept and it was a great inspiration, a sit is ever present in our lives: a jet turbine, the silence of a glider... the elegance of the movements the wind creates&hellip but also the violence and force that it can unleash.

[Pagani Automobili]Zonda Tricolore

zondatricolere05-20cm
On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the “Frecce
Tricolori”, Pagani Automobili created the Zonda Tricolore as a tribute to the
National Aerobatic Team.
In 2010 the aerobatic season of the Frecce Tricolori comes to its 50th
anniversary, wich will be celebrated on 11th and 12th September at Rivolto
Airport (info: www.aeronautica.difesa.it).
The Frecce Tricolori (Italian, literally Tricolour Arrows), officially known as
the 313th Aerobatic Training Squadron is the demonstration team of the
Italian Air Force, based at Rivolto Air Force Base, in the north-eastern Italian
region of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, province of Udine. They were formed in 1961
as an Air Force team, replacing previous teams that had been sponsored
by various commands by the end of the 1920s.

The team flies the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, a two-seat aircraft capable
of 898 km/h at sea level, with nine aircraft and a solo (the highest number
of aircraft of any aerobatic team in the world).
The Frecce Tricolori belong to the legacy of the entire Italian community.

[Pagani Automobili]ZONDA R NURBURGRING RECORD

June 30th, 2010 - NÜRBURGRING, Germany
2010-06-30-pagani-07-223m3
Pagani Zonda R fell in the difficult and tortuous Nordschleife track of Nürburgring
along the 20.83 km in 6 minutes and 47 seconds.
Unlike the other circuits, during these 73 curves, every component of the cars is
subjected to more severe stresses, this is the reason of Horacio Pagani to define
its “fireproof”. In this sense, every his supercar compares in Nürburgring with the
intention to demonstrate and

A time possible tank to the excellent performance recorded at the level of adhesion
with the asphalt, thanks to low weight of 200 kg compared to the road version,
carbon-titanium frame, lightened suspension, low center of gravity, reduced polar
inertia and better downforce.

[Pagani Automobili]New - Zonda Cinque Roadster

The Pagani roadcar model range would not be complete without a Roadster
version of the Zonda Cinque. As the name implies it is created in the
Modenese Atelier in a limited production run of merely five exclusive pieces
like its coupé sister.
All weight reduction measures adopted by Pagani to improve driving pleasure,
performance and emission of the Zonda Cinque have found use in the
Cinque Roadster as well. The Carbon-Titanium chassis has been redesigned
for the compensation of a missing roof.
The Cinque experience is enhanced with the roof stored in the front bonnet,
when the storm of air being fed to the 678hp Mercedes AMG V12 engine
through the massive intake just inches over the passengers’ ears, accompanies
the exhaust note of the bespoke Zonda Cinque Inconel and Titanium exhaust
system.
Whether you opt for a relaxed country drive in Tuscany’s hills, visiting Florence
and other centres of the Italian Renaissance, or a record hunt at the
Nürburgring, this 1.3 milion Euro + taxes jewel will reward with every day
driveability and ultimate performance thanks to the different drive modes
of the sequential robostised gearbox and an adjustable suspension setup
that feels at home as well at the racetrack as on bumpy roads.
The constant efforts of Horacio Pagani and his team shows once again how
art and engineering can be combined in the Zonda Cinque Roadster.

[Pagani Automobili]GENEVA 2009 - PAGANI ZONDA R

Horacio Pagani presentation:
Dear Friends,
Welcome to you all.
Thanks for being here tonight for the official presentation of the Zonda R.
I wish to share with you some moments of amusement and relax, during which
we will tell about the new Zonda R and the other projects Pagani is currently
developing, bringing to you my ideas and my dreams.
We are all aware of the fact that the Zonda R is a toy, one of those toys which
made us happy when we were kids, encouraging our fantasy and dreams, bringing
our mind to an ideal world. It is important to follow this childish feeling inside,
and still enjoy these toys, more or less expensive, along all phases of life.
The Zonda R is a completely new project, the result of more than 2 years work
and the introduction of 2.100 brand new components. For Pagani it represents
the ideal environment to test new solutions for the future products. Prestigious
technical partners have teamed up with Pagani in the development of this
demanding project. Among them, the AMG, Aspa, Automac, Bagatti, Bosch,
Ennegi, Pirelli, Poggipolini, Xtrac, highly qualified professionals pushed by a strong
motivation. I am deeply thankful to all of them.
The project “Fangio”, later renamed “Zonda”, from a technical and stylistic point
of view was inspired by the group C prototype, when the design was not imposed
by aerodynamic restrictions. You might remember, the Sauber Mercedes C11, the
Peugeot 905, the Jaguar XJR-8, as also the older Ferrari P4, and Porsche 917,
all beautiful cars which influenced the design of sport cars.

[Pagani Automobili]PAGANI ZONDA R: it's real and in track!

Monza, 5 february 2009

A Pagani Zonda is never shy of a drive at the racetrack, a fact that was undermined
numerous times in the past with records for production vehicles at the Nurburgring
Nordschleife. With the input of its avid track focused customers, the Pagani team has
created the Zonda R using bespoke engineering solutions to meet the performance
demands for a trackday version of the highly popular Zonda F.
The central monocoque is made of a Carbon-Titanium composite, increasing rigidity
while reducing significantly the weight. Bolted directly to the chassis is the Mercedes
AMG 6.0 litre race derived V12 engine, with 750 hp and 710 Nm of torque. A direct
throttle actuation via mechanical cable ensures immediate throttle response.
The Xtrac Magnesium cased dog ring gearbox combined with tha Automac Engineering
AMT system performs gearshifts in 20ms, triggered by the drivers input on the paddles
behind the steering wheel. A 12-way Bosch Motorsport traction control and ABS system
allows the driver to fully adjust the settings while driving the Zonda R.

At the pits, each driver will be able to find a suitable setup thanks to a fully adjustable
suspension and wing configuration. The effectiveness of the rear is matched by a complex
new front bonnet, a masterpiece realised with the help of models by Ennegi, as well as
the closed underbody and rear diffusor. Aerodynamic setups rage from a high downforce
setting of 1.500kg to a 350kmh top speed setting.
Aspa forged AvionAl suspension components as well as machined structural ErgAl parts
holding the engine and gearbox have been designed to reduce the weight of the overall
car, Poggipolini Titanium screws are used on the whole car. These measures lead to a
dry weight of 1.070 kg.

[Pagani Automobili]Zonda Cinque

After last year’s record braking lap at the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife, the
official Pagani representatives from Hong Kong made their special request for the
most radical road legal Zonda ever, the Zonda Cinque. Limited to just 5 (Cinque)
pieces the production is already sold out.
Technology
In order to satisfy the downforce requirements of 750kg at 300kph, the Cinque
features a new larger front splitter, a new adjustable rear wing as well as a
modified underbody and rear diffuser. New intakes for brake ducts increase the
airflow to brake disks and wheelhubs.
The air scoop on the central monococque feeds the 678hp Mercedes-AMG V12
powerplant. Up to 780Nm are unleashed on the bespoke Pirelli Pzero tyres. For
the first time ever in a Zonda a sequential 6 speed gearbox is installed. The
adaptive gearbox demands no compromises from the driver, offering lightning
fast gearshifts and comfortable use in heavy traffic.

Having become a public issue only recently, fuel economy and efficiency have
been grappled with since the mid 1990s at Pagani, its engineers constantly
developing new technologies and materials to reduce the weight of their cars.
A new composite fibre, carbon-titanium, a development by Pagani, has been
purposely created for the Zonda Cinque and will find its use in future generations
of Pagani vehicles. Forged monoblock aluminium wheels, bolts and nuts are
realised in titanium to significantly reduce the unsprung masses. The fully adjustable
ergal shock absorbers with titanium springs have been developed at Öhlins
according to the latest technologies and to the Pagani specifications.

[Pagani Automobili]THE NEW PAGANI ZONDA R - PREVIEW OF GENEVA MOTORSHOW

While we certainly cannot say the Zonda F lacks performance figures, driving around the Nürburgring in 7:32 and achieving lateral G forces of almost 1.5 G, it is however a road car, easy to drive, intuitive and setting the benchmark for comfort, safety and lightweight. Paired with a quality finish and the attention to detail this made the Zonda F one of the most desirable supercars resulting in the 25 Coupé models being sold out in record time.

This did not seem to fulfil the requirements of our most demanding customers, who adore the weekend drive on a racetrack. The spark has been set by an Italo-American customer, enthusiast and already proud owner of 3 Zondas. He describes the project this way: “The thought has been on my mind for quite some time, but I am not interested in racing”. The Zonda R is born with full liberty. The target: the ultimate performance at the racetrack without any implications of rules, except for safety, where no compromise is allowed.

[Pagani Automobili]Pagani Automobili is proud to unveil the Roadster F, a new jewel in the Zonda

Hand built at the Pagani Atelier in a limited run of 25, the Roadster F offers the
outstanding driveability and performance of the F Coupè, enhanced by the
pleasure of driving with a gentle breeze in your hair.
Thanks to an original roof made out of carbon fibre and cloth (removable in a
few seconds) and due to the use of carbon fabrics for the construction of the
central chassis, bodywork and interior, it was possible to maintain the dry weight
of 1230kg, which translates in a weight/power ratio of 1,89kg/hp for the Clubsport
version.
