German GP – A good start for Alonso and Massa in free practice at the Nurburgring

The first free practice session for the tenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship took place in the dry this morning, with Fernando Alonso setting the fastest time in 1.31.894. Behind him came the Red Bull duo of Mark Webber (1.32.217) and Sebastian Vettel (1.32.268.)
In the other 150º Italia, Felipe Massa was fourth in 1.32.681. After an initial run on the Medium compound tyres, both drivers spent the rest of the session evaluating the experimental Soft tyres supplied by Pirelli. Other items on the agenda this morning were comparative testing of aerodynamic updates brought to Germany. The next practice session takes place this afternoon at 14.00
