Malucelli takes the spoils at Vallelunga, with Bontempelli, Gai and Caso hot on his heels

Two weeks on from the last round in Mugello, the Italian Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is back in action at Vallelunga’s Piero Taruffi circuit. Today, competitors in this the sixth and penultimate round of the season took part in two qualifying sessions. The first pole of the day in the Trofeo Pirelli class went to Matteo Malucelli (Motor/Malucelli) in his third season in the series, which he won in 2004. Second and third were Dario Caso (CDP) and Lorenzo Bontempelli (Kessel Racing). Malucelli was also fastest in the second session to decide the grid for Race 2, ahead of Lorenzo Bontempelli and Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa), both of whom are still in with a chance of taking the Italian title.


When it came to the gentleman drivers in the Coppa Shell, fastest was Daniele Di Amato (CDP), ahead of Benedetto Marti (Motor/Piacenza) and Andrii Kruglyk (Rossocorsa), while in the second session, it was Renato Di Amato (CDP) who topped the time sheet, followed by Vincenzo Sauto (Ineco/MP) and Benedetto Marti (Motor/Piacenza). Of those running the F430 Challenge, Andrea Belluzzi (Motor/Modena) took pole in the first session, with Giovanni Cappelletti (Rossocorsa/Pellin) and Sossio Del Prete (CDP), second and third. In the last session the top three order was Belluzzi, Giosuè Rizzuto (Motor/Modena) and Giovanni Cappelletti.
