Maranello, 28 October

In the splendid setting of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, a press conference was held today to announce events that will see Ferrari taking part in various events in the city all next week and which will end on Sunday 6 November with the Finali Mondiali at Mugello. This is the event that traditionally brings the curtain down on the Maranello company’s race season. Over a thousand owner drivers are expected to take part, coming from all over the world.

The Mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi the Head of Ferrari Corse Clienti, Antonello Coletta and the Chief Administrator of the Mugello circuit, Paolo Poli presented the planned activities starting with an exhibition which takes place on Sunday 30 October at midday at Florence’s Parco delle Cascine: it takes the form of a parade featuring race and road going Ferraris, including the F10 which Giancarlo Fisichella drove during the 2010 Formula 1 season.

Also in the parade will be the AF Corse 458 Italia GT2 in the hands of Gimmi Bruni, who partnered with Fisichella took to the 2011 title in the prestigious and competitive Le Mans Series. The Maranello company’s test driver Maurizio Mediani has the task of driving a 599XX. At the same time, Florence’s most important squares will display a few examples of cars that represent Ferrari’s history so that fans can see these jewels of the marque close up. In Florence’s historic centre there will be an F2003, a 750 Monza (1954,) a 1961 250 California and a 1956 250 GT, creating a perfect union between art and the history and legend that is Ferrari.
