The curtain has come down on the sixth running of the famous Bathurst 12 Hours, held on the rollercoaster track in New South Wales Australia, which always provides a tough challenge for cars and drivers.

The world’s major manufacturers were out in force to do battle over the 6.213 km Mount Panorama circuit that winds its way anticlockwise around the hills on the outskirts of Bathurst.

At the end of 12 hours of racing, victory went to the Phoenix Racing Audi R8, while best of the two Ferraris entered was the 458 GT3 entered by Clearwater Racing, the team who took last year’s GT3 Asia title. The crew of Matt Griffin, Weng Su and Craig Baird finished third with a well thought out strategy which saw them make the most of the car’s potential, despite having to carry 50 Kg of ballast for the race. However, the Maranello Motorsport Ferrari had to retire at around half distance because of a technical fault with the fire extinguisher sensor which put an end to their efforts to reach the podium, after the Australian team had been a front runner all weekend.
