The Corse Clienti season has officially begun with Ferrari Racing Days at Suzuka. This special event groups together the races for the entrants in the Asia-Pacific series of the Ferrari Challenge Tofeo Pirelli and the track sessions for clients involved in the XX and F1 programmes. On the circuit, the home of the Formula 1, Ferrari offered its racing clients the chance to see for the first time in Japan how they got on at the wheel of their own cars in some sessions of free practice. They were accompanied by professional drivers such as Davide Rigon, who works for Ferrari on developing cars for racing.

On the programme for the first round of the Ferrari Challenge APAC were a total of twentyseven Ferraris. They took part in the two sessions of official qualifying to secure their places on the starting grids of the two races scheduled for tomorrow at 10.40 and 14.20 local time. In the first sessions it was Japanese Hisamori Hayashi (2.20.768) who took pole position while in the second session the fastest lap was set by Alex Au (2.01.507), the driver from Hong Kong out of the protagonists of the Coppa Shell.

The programme will finish on Sunday with a show by Mika Salo, former Formula 1 driver and a great friend of the Scuderia Ferrari. For this occasion he will take to the track at the wheel of a F2008 as well as taking part in the two races of Ferrari Challenge with a 458 Challenge.

During the press conference for the event, Salo, guest of honour for the weekend, expressed his satisfaction to represent Ferrari in Japan: “It’s a great honour for me to be here at this extraordinary event in a country that has always appreciated motor sport and with which I have personal links. I am happy to be able to give my contribution, and I hope to offer some emotional experiences for all the Ferrari fans.”

The weekend will also offer the chance to admire some splendid examples of classic Ferraris that have helped create the history of the Prancing Horse. This week end these will join a Concours d'Elegance, promoted in collaboration with the prestigious watchmaker Hublot. The track activities and entertainment that will accompany the schedule will thus allow clients and local fans to enter into contact with the Ferrari world thanks to an event that perfectly marries tradition and innovation, just like the spirit of the Company.
