Malaysian GP - Aerodynamic testing as Sepang gets underway

Just a few days after the opening round of the Formula 1 World Championship in Melbourne, the cars were back in action at Sepang for the first free practice session of the fourteenth running of the Malaysian Grand Prix. Quickest was Lewis Hamilton (1.38.021) in the McLaren, followed by Sebastian Vettel (1.38.535) in the Red Bull and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg (1.38.813.) The F2012s of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were 13th and 15th respectively with times of 1.39.896 and 1.39.980. They ran different programmes on the demaning Malaysian track, trying various aero configurations while both of them ran just one set each of the Hard tyres, and fitted in some pit stop and start practice.
