Grand AM - Ferrari maintains championship lead with a fourth place in Detroit

Maranello, 3 June

After two wins in a row at Homestead and New Jersey, the AIM Autosport Ferrari came home fourth in the Detroit GP, held at Michigan’s Belle Isle circuit. The fifth round of the Grand AM series was held in conjunction with the Indy Car series. The result sees the Maranello marque head the constructors’ table, while Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato duo leads the drivers’ championship.

Also taking part was the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari, which took pole position on Friday in a time of 1.27.967, with Guy Cosmo at the wheel. He ended the two hour race in seventh place, having been given a stop-go penalty for a jumped start, after the Safety Car came back in.

The next round of the series takes place on 8-10 June at Mid Ohio, while on 6-7 July the Extreme Speed Motorsports team will be in action at Lime Rock for the fourth round of the American Le Mans Series.
