Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli – North America Triarsi and Valera take the first wins of the weekend

This weekend, Montreal’s Gilles Villeneuve circuit is hosting the fourth round of the North American series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. Today saw the first races on this busy weekend and, of the 23 458 Challenge cars entered in the Trofeo Pirelli category, the winner was current championship leader, Onofrio Triarsi, driving for Ferrari of Central Florida. On the second and third steps of the podium, we have Mike Zoi (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) and Kevin Marshall (Ferrari of Beverley Hills.) As for the gentleman drivers in the Coppa Shell, victory went to pole sitter Jose Valera (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) first overall across the line, ahead of Damon Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) and Darren Crystal (Ferrari of Houston.) Handing out the prizes for the Trofeo Pirelli was Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal, Stefano Domenicali who of course is here for the seventh round of the Formula 1 World Championship, while the trophies for the Coppa Shell were presented by Marco Mattiacci, Head of Ferrari North America. Competitors in the Stars and Stripes series of the Ferrari one-make championship had decided to show their support for the victims of the earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, by posing with a pit board bearing the message already used by Scuderia Ferrari – “Help Emilia-Romagna. Auction on www.ferrari.com”. Everyone can take part in the auction which opened on 6th June.
