250 GTO celebrates 50th anniversary in the hills of Champagne-Ardenne

It was produced in a limited edition of 36 cars and is today one of the most expensive historical cars in the world, with prizes of sometimes over $ 30 Million. One of these cars – restored and certified - left the Ferrari Classiche department just a couple of days ago in its original splendid form.
Now the 250 GTO celebrates its 50th anniversary where it celebrated its first victories. On Tuesday the event’s 23 protagonists started their engines on the legendary Gueux race track to arrive at the Hautvilliers Abbey at night, where the official gala dinner with Chairman Luca di Montezemolo and another important protagonist was held: the F12berlinetta, the latest creation from the manufacturer in Maranello.

So it’s a busy week for the 250 GTOs, who, after some laps on the legendary race track of Monthléry, went on to discover the splendid castles of Villlandry and Chambord at the Loire.
On Friday, 6 July, on a really special day, the 23 cars will be guests at the famous "Le Mans Classic” event and parade on the legendary track, exactly there, where the 250 GTO once gained two victories.
