Singapore GP - No surprises in the final free practice

Marina Bay, 22 September

Third and sixth places for the Ferraris of Fernando Alonso (1.48.623) and Felipe Massa (1.49.458) in the final free practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix. It ended two minutes ahead of schedule as the red flag came out, after Vitaly Petrov crashed his Caterham, effectively blocking the pit lane entry. The Russian was unhurt. Once again leading the way on the street circuit that hosts the fourteenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, was Sebastian Vettel, who took his Red Bull round in 1.47.947, ahead of the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton (1.48.272.) Scuderia Ferrari’s Spanish driver completed 11 laps, making just a few changes on the car as well as the usual set-up work aimed at qualifying, a task he shared with his team-mate. Both men ran the Soft tyres first, then the Supersoft.
