United States GP - A question of stops

Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull continues to dominate this first ever weekend of Formula 1 in Texas, setting a time of 1.36.490 in the third and final free practice session. Behind him comes the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton (1.36.748) and in third, Pastor Maldonaldo (1.37.001) for Williams. The Ferraris of Fernando Alonso (1.37.180) and Felipe Massa (1.37.262) are fourth and sixth respectively. Both men did plenty of pit-stop practice runs in preparation for tomorrow’s race and ran both the Hard and Medium Pirelli tyres on a track that seems to be offering more grip than yesterday. At 12h00 it’s time for qualifying to determine the grid for the nineteenth round of the championship.
