United States GP - Podium extends fight to the end

The Formula 1 Drivers World Championship title will go down to the wire at the last race, after Lewis Hamilton and his McLaren won the nineteenth round, beating title favourite Sebastian Vettel. Behind them came Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari. Starting from seventh on the grid, Alonso made up three places at the first tricky turn on the Texan track and then raced all the way to third at the flag. He is now 13 points behind Vettel in the classification. Felipe Massa fought his way up to finish fourth behind his team-mate.
The final decisive round takes place at Sao Paolo’s Interlagos circuit next Sunday.
