British GP - Not much grip

Silverstone, 29 June

Saturday morning saw Nico Rosberg quickest for Mercedes in the third and final free practice session for the British Grand Prix. The tetchy weather gods finally relented to produce a dry and sunny morning, with the German driver setting a time of 1.31.487. Next up was his team-mate Lewis Hamilton (1.31.633) and Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull (1.32.037.) Both Ferrari men found there wasn’t much grip on offer this morning and Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa were seventh and fifteenth respectively, in times of 1.32.454 and 1.33.273. The work in the Scuderia pits centred on finding the best set-up for qualifying and the usual comparison between the Hard and Medium Pirellis being used for this the eighth round of the series.
