British GT goes Double Dutch

This weekend the British GT championship head overseas for two races at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort. With the championship wide open, the penultimate round is an event not to be missed. In France the French GT championship arrives at Magny-Cours for the fifth event of the seventh round championship.

The British GT Championship move one step closer to a thrilling finale as teams and drivers pack their bags for the annual overseas round, which this year is hosted by the exciting Circuit Park Zandvoort in Holland. No less than sixteen drivers from five manufacturers are in serious contention for the championship, covered by some 49.5 points.

Three Ferrari will take place in the Dutch event, AF Corse have the #13 GT3 car for John Dhillon and Aaron Scott and FF Corse enter their #18 GT3 for regulars Gary Eastwood and Rob Barff. English squad, Horsepower Racing are new arrivals to the ranks of the 2013 season. The Essex-based team, assisted by former British GT race winners Scuderia Vittoria, will run the highly capable pairing of Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz in a Ferrari 458 Challenge for this weekend, with a view to competing at the final round at Donington Park too.

The first race of the weekend will take place on Saturday at 15:00 BST with the second race being run on Sunday at 11:00 BST.

The French GT arrives in Mangny Cours for its first round after the summer break and four Ferrari take to the grid. Sport Garage have two cars the first for Eric Cayrolle and Arno Santamato and the second for Gilles Duqueine and Laurent Groppi. Sofrev ASP field its usual pairing of former French football star Fabien Barthez and Morgan Moullin Traffort. The final car comes from JMB Racing for Jéröme Demay and Patrice Madelaine.

The championship will take part in two one hour races the first on Saturday at 17:05 and the second on Sunday at 13:50.
